IN THE WORDS OF PETER HUGHES DIVE INC:
PLEASE NOTE: We do not recommend the Galapagos Islands for inexperienced divers since cool water temperatures mandate wearing heavy wet suits that will provide a challenge to many divers. For inexperienced divers [even experienced warm water divers] not used to the considerable extra lead needed to sink a 5mm wet suit, the mandatory check out dive is not sufficient time/opportunity to master the art of proper buoyancy control. Additionally, sea conditions are often rough and currents may change rapidly.
